In my case, I found that I had installed a PL2303 USB-to-Serial Driver on my machine. This conflicted with installing the PL23XX USB-to-Serial Driver. If you have Windows 11, make sure you only have one Prolific Technology USB to Serial installed and test that way. Remove one, test to see if the error goes, if not remove one and install the PL23XX USB-to-Serial Driver, restart your computer, and test. Good luck!

Another way to resolve this error is by clicking on the COM Port with corrupted drivers, click "Uninstall Driver" from the Device Manager on Windows. Then click on "Monitor thumbnail" that says "Scan for hardware changes". This should install the drivers automatically.
