Zinara to roll out expensive e-tolling system

The Zimbabwe National Road Administration (Zinara) has announced that it will begin rolling out an electronic tolling system before the end of the year. This move is aimed at improving efficiency, enhancing motorists' convenience, and reducing operational costs for the organization.

E-tolling is a digital payment system that allows drivers to pay toll fees electronically using their mobile devices or other electronic means. It eliminates the need for physical cash transactions, which can be time-consuming and prone to errors. With e-tolling, motorists can simply scan a QR code at the toll gate and pay the toll fee through their preferred payment method.

The implementation of e-tolling will also help Zinara to collect toll fees more accurately and efficiently. This is because electronic transactions are less prone to errors and fraud than physical cash transactions. Additionally, e-tolling can provide real-time data on toll collection, which can be used to optimize traffic flow and reduce congestion.

Overall, the introduction of e-tolling by Zinara is a positive development that will benefit both motorists and the organization. It will improve convenience for drivers, reduce operational costs for Zinara, and help to improve road infrastructure in Zimbabwe.
