Clark breaks women's major-college scoring record

Caitlin Clark is a standout guard for the Iowa Hawkeyes women's basketball team. On Wednesday, she continued her impressive performance by breaking the major-college women's basketball scoring record held by Lynette Woodard of Kansas.

Clark had been closing in on the record for several games and finally surpassed it with a strong performance against the Kansas Jayhawks. She finished the game with 30 points, which was enough to break Woodard's record of 2,995 career points.

Woodard held the major-college women's basketball scoring record for over 40 years and is widely regarded as one of the greatest players in the history of the sport. She played for Kansas from 1978 to 1982 and went on to have a successful professional career, winning three WNBA championships with the Houston Comets.

Clark has been making her own mark on the game and is considered one of the top players in the country. She was named the Big Ten Player of the Year in 2021 and has led the Hawkeyes to several victories this season.

Overall, Clark's performance against Kansas was a remarkable achievement and further solidified her place as one of the best players in women's basketball history.
