The inauguration of the India-Bangladesh Friendship Pipeline (IBFP) on Saturday by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Bangladesh counterpart, Sheikh Hasina, has opened a new chapter of further strengthening economic cooperation between the two neighbours. The Friendship Pipeline will carry diesel from the Siliguri marketing terminal of Numaligarh Refinery Ltd. in West Bengal to the Parbatipur depot of Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation (BPC) inside that country.
