MoD lifts the ban on 6 Tamil organisations

The Ministry of Defence has lifted the ban previously imposed by the Sri Lankan government on six Tamil organisations and 316 individuals.The Ministry said the amendment to the list of designated persons was made under Regulation 4(7) of the United Nations Regulations No.1 of 2012.Accordingly, the ban on the Tamil Coordinating Committee, the World Tamil Movement, the Transnational Government Of Tamil Eelam, the National Council Of Canadian Tamil, and two other organisations have been lifted with effect from August 01.Click here for the gazette
