Did our early ancestors boil their food in hot springs?

Scientists at MIT and elsewhere have found evidence suggesting the presence of hot springs near settlements of early human ancestors in Oldvuai Gorge. The finding raises the possibility that ancient hominids may have used the hot springs for primitive cooking, before the controlled use of fire.
